Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) provides public transportation in the city with diesel buses, community buses, light rail transit (LRT) and services. Standard prices for Edmonton Transit Service can be found here.

Edmonton will provide Ukrainian newcomers residing in Edmonton the Ride Transit discount pass and free/discounted Leisure Pass that is granted for residents with refugee status. When you sign up for the Ride Transit pass you are also signing up for their Leisure Pass. The Ride Transit pass will be reduced to the price of $35/month. To read about the Leisure pass click here. The City of Calgary offers CTrain (LRT) service with two main lines – a red line running north to south and a blue line running east to west. The CTrain is free downtown – simply hop on at any stop along Seventh Avenue. As long as you get off the train before leaving downtown, no fare is required. You can also download the MyFare app which lets you use your smartphone to buy passes for Calgary’s transit system.
Bus service is available throughout the city and connects with the CTrain line. To find your route, visit Calgary Transit or download the MyFare app and you can select your origin and destination to find where you are going. You can also pick up a printed schedule from any convenience store or find the schedule online.
The Fair Entry Program allows eligible low-income Calgarians access to participating City of Calgary programs and services with one application (such as Recreation Fee Assistance and Transit Passes). The passes will be available to Ukrainian newcomers (under CUAET) access to these discounts. To apply you must work with an eligible social worker, which you can find at the Centre for Newcomers in Calgary. To apply for Fair Entry online, by mail, fax, drop-off, or in-person, click here.
